Satpreet Kahlon

We are excited to welcome Satpreek Kahlon as our new artist-in-residence. Satpreet will be working in the AIR space through mid-February 2020.

Satpreet Kahlon is a multidisciplinary artist who is based in Seattle, WA. Born in Punjab, India and raised in the Midwest, she is interested in creating visual language and immersive encounters that express and explore intersectional experiences as well as the structural systems of inequity that dictate their boundaries. In addition to her studio practice, which has been pictured in Artforum, Satpreet is the founder of Deep Space Gallery, and, she co-curated yəhaw̓, a multi-city, yearlong project based in the Pacific Northwest that will feature work of over 200 Indigenous artists in 20 partner sites.

Satpreet recently graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design, where she received a full-fellowship to pursue her MFA in Sculpture. In 2019, Satpreet was named one of 35 most influential people in Seattle by Seattle Magazine.
